SJHS PTO
We are excited to share with you that St. Joseph High School now has a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)! The new SJHS PTO is a collaborative partnership between parents, teachers and administrators that works to ensure all students at St. Joseph High School receive a well-rounded, equitable school experience.
Helping our teachers prepare our students for their future educational, career and personal successes is vital to the new PTO’s mission. Our goal is to facilitate strong relationships between students, teachers and families so we can all work together to create a healthy school culture and climate which has been proven to motivate students to learn and stay in school.
Please join our Facebook group and be on the lookout for more information about this group! Feel free to email us at: stjosephhighschoolpto@gmail.com with ideas you may have or just to connect.
Bear Tracks Color Blast 5K and Fun Run
Dear SJHS Parent Community,
The new SJHS PTO would like to invite you to our first annual Bear Tracks Color Blast 5K and Fun Run on Saturday, April 13th at 9 am.
What is a Color Blast 5K and Fun Run?
The Color Blast Run/ Walk is an event to bring people of all ages together to celebrate fitness and community, all with a splash of color- literally!
Participants begin the race wearing white and finish in a tie dye of colors! Runners are doused in different color powders throughout the course. Once the race is over, the fun begins with music and photo ops...a great way to celebrate your run/walk success!
All monies will support the mission of the SJHS PTO: to ensure all students receive an equitable and top quality experience within the High School and that all SJHS educators receive the support they need to create a healthy school culture and climate which has been proven to motivate students to learn and stay in school.
Please see the flyer below or the race website for more information. If you aren't interested in running/ walking, but want to be involved in the SJHS PTO, these are other ways to connect!

Lory's Place - Run, Walk, and Rock!
We are excited to announce the 20th Annual Lory's Place RUN, WALK AND ROCK event presented by the McLoughlin Family Foundation held along the beautiful sandy beaches of St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Last year, more than 850 walkers and runners joined us to celebrate hope and healing.
We would like to ask for your participation in our “Champions for Children Challenge.” Students, teachers and administrators are invited to represent their school in either the 5K walk or 5K run. The school that has the highest number of students and staff registered for the event will be awarded the "Champions for Children" traveling trophy. We will schedule time at the school for a special ceremony and presentation. Thanks to the generous support of Boss Services, the winning school will also receive a $500.00 donation to use as needed.
Anyone interested in participating must simply register either online at lorysplace.org/rwr or by paper registration downloaded(attached) or picked up at Lory’s Place. Be sure to indicate the school and grade that you are representing on the registration form. This is a great way for children and teens to learn the value of helping others while strengthening mind and body through physical activity!
Lory’s Place is fully funded by the generous donations and gifts of our community, and all proceeds from this event go to provide free of cost services for grieving children, adults and their families throughout Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana.
Thank you for being a friend to Lory’s Place. We look forward to running and walking with you on May 18th. Should you have any questions, please call Lory’s Place at (269)983-2707.
Thank you for your support,
Stephanie Kohler-Pagan
