Students receive the best in music education at St. Joseph Schools. We are proud to be one of the only schools in the area to boast a full orchestra program led by director Mr. Burke Lokey and assisted by Ms. Rachel Cabanilla.
Orchestra students perform many times throughout the school year at concerts, state and local festivals, and in combination with the high school orchestra. They also have the benefit of learning with several artists in residence each year.
Symphony Orchestra
This group consists of 10th-12th grade students and performs at all concerts, festivals and trips of the combined groups.
Chamber Orchestra
The High School Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Burke Lokey is recognized as one of the top String Orchestras in Michigan.
Philharmonic String Orchestra
The Philharmonic consists of 9th-12th grade students and performs at all concerts, festivals and trips of the combined groups. Although most of the repertoire will be string orchestra, whenever possible the Philharmonic Strings will join the Symphony Orchestra for special selections at the Holiday Concerts and tours.
